According to RMGEC (The Ready-Made Garments Export Council of Egypt), Egypt’s exports of ready-made garments soared by 35% YoY during 7M22, hitting USD1.44bn. The US was the largest importer, taking in USD820mn worth of ready-made garments with an increase of 38% YoY during 7M22. They were followed by Europe, which saw its imports grow by 26% YoY, then Arab countries, growing 33% YoY. The Council’s President said that the sector generates USD2.5bn of exports annually, and there are ambitious plans in place to increase that figure to USD10-12bn.
