The Minister of Planning & Economic Development announced that the government has upgraded its forecast for GDP growth for FY21/22 to 5.6%, up from the previous forecast of 5.4%. During FY20/21, GDP growth registered 3.3% as the negative effects of the Covid pandemic took their toll, although the Egyptian economy managed to weather the repercussions better than most countries worldwide.
