Mr. Hesham El Sweedy


Mr. Hesham El Sewedy is one of the largest investors in the region and a prominent investment figure in the Egyptian stock market. Mr. El Sewedy is the Chairman of Energya Industries, the owner of Energya Cables, Energya Steel Manufacturing, and Energya Electrical Industries. He is also the Chairman of Wadi El Nil Cement Company, Hayah Urban Development, Hayah International Academy and Helal El Sewedy Foundation for Society Development.

Mr. Mohamed Abdalla

Vice Chairman

Mr. Mohamed Abdalla is currently the president of Coldwell Banker affiliates of Egypt. Mr. Abdalla has over 23 years of experience in the equity and real estate markets. His experience includes the founding and managing of InterCapital Securities in 1997, which shortly after its inception was ranked as one of Egypt’s top three brokerage firms participating in most of Egypt’s major public sector companies’ privatizations and private placements. As a result of its impeccable success, the firm merged with Robert Fleming, changing its name to Fleming CIIC Securities that soon after merged with EFG-Hermes in 2000.

Mr. Abdalla then founded and brought the franchise of the first multinational real estate franchise to Egypt; Coldwell Banker. He also co-founded and chaired the Real Estate Committee in the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt since 2003 and has attended the US door knock mission of the chamber for the past 12 years.

In 2010, Mr. Abdalla, along with Mr. Hesham El Sewedy; a prominent Saudi business figure, and Mrs. Rana Adawi; a well-known investment banker in  Egypt founded Acumen Holding with a paid-in capital of EGP 30 million.

Mrs. Rana Adawi

Mrs. Rana Adawi comes with prime expertise in Asset Management and over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry with leading international and regional financial institutions. Her previous roles include Head of Research in Fleming CIIC Securities and

Managing Director of Egyptian Portfolio Management Group, the portfolio management arm of the region’s largest investment bank EFG-Hermes. Under her mandate was the management of Egypt’s largest local mutual funds and equity portfolios of high-net-worth individuals investing in the Egyptian stock market. Total assets under her direct management exceeded EGP 5bn. Mutual funds managed by her were ranked 1st through 3rd for three consecutive years (2005, 2006 and 2007) among all competing Egyptian funds, and beating the index by no less than 50%.

In 2010, Mrs. Adawi, along with Mr. Hesham El Sewedy; a prominent Saudi business figure, and Mr. Mohamed Abdalla; founder of Coldwell Banker Egypt founded Acumen Holding with a paid-in capital of EGP 30 million..

Mrs. Rana Adawi  is the Chairperson and Managing Director of Acumen Asset Management. The company is managing Egypt’s Top performing balanced fund “El Kheir Fund” that ranked number one in cumulative performance for three years from 2012-2014 and Bank Audi’s Islamic fund “Ezdehar”, the first fund to be launched in Egypt after the revolution and was also ranked number one amongst all Islamic funds in Egypt in 2015.

Mrs Adawi also manages portfolios of public sector banks, public and private institutions, and high-net-worth individuals with a total AUMs of USD 120 million.

Mrs Rana Adawi was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in the economy in Egypt in 2016 in a ceremony that was organized by one of Egypt’s top financial magazines under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Egypt Sherif Ismail . 

 Mrs Adawi  is also a member of the Top 50 Committee that is taking an active role in the economic development of the country. 

Mr. Anis Aclimandos

Board Member

Anis Aclimandos is president of Transcentury Associates, a U.S. private international consulting firm located in Bethesda, Maryland and Cairo that provides technical and management consulting services for development projects worldwide. Its clients include foreign governments, U.S. and international private firms, non-governmental organizations, USAID, the World Bank, the European Union and international donors.

Mr. Aclimandos is an international business development consultant with extensive expertise and experience in handling trade representations and affiliations between Egypt and the United States. He is a “Mergers and Acquisitions” specialist who has brought to fruition major transactions. He has designed and implemented a broad range of development programs for projects in Egypt, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia, and managed components of the USAID funded projects, including procurement services shipment programs, supply chain management support to international corporations.

He is currently President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.  He serves as Chairman of the Education for Employment Foundation and is a member of the boards of Community and Institutional Development, Concordia Construction Company, Ready Mix, Carry-On (Unilever distributor) and Amoun Pharmaceutical Company, where he is also a Senior Board Advisor of the holding company. He is a former Chairman of the USAID/Ministry of Finance Committees for the Chamber of Commerce; Secretary General of the French Chamber of Commerce in Egypt; President of the Jesuits Alumni Association; member of the International Affairs Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Industries; and member of the U.S. Egypt Presidential Council.

Fatma Lotfy

Ms Fatma is a renowned Banking and Investment Expert.  Ms Lotfy is currently Chairman of EFG finance and Chairman of EFG leasing. Prior to that, Ms Lotfy was the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Bank Audi Egypt. Ms Lotfy also served as Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of Alexandria and Senior General Manager of the Egyptian American Bank an affiliate of American Express. Previously, Ms lofty was General manager of CIB and an executive director of commercial international investment company CIIC. Ms Fatma has over 30 years of commercial and investment banking experience. Ms Lotfy holds a Bachelor degree of Business Administration from the Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University, Graduate Diploma in Finance from the American University of Washington, Member of EPEA Private Equity and a Member of the Egyptian-European Council.

Wael Ziada

Board Member

Mr. Ziada is the founder and managing director of the investment firm Zilla Capital. Prior to that Wael was the CEO and Executive Chairman Of EFG Hermes finance, is the platform that consolidates the group’s Non-Banking Financial Services (NBFS) activities.  Mr Ziada also served as EFG Hermes’ Head of Research and member of the firm's executive committee. Mr Ziada has 20 years of experience in the Middle East equity capital markets and has worked on many local and regional IPOs. Wael has a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo .
