Mrs. Rana Adawi

Her career spans some of the most prestigious international and regional financial institutions in Egypt, where she has honed her leadership skills and deep understanding of the financial markets.

Recognized globally for her outstanding achievements, Mrs. Adawi has received numerous accolades for her exceptional leadership and contributions to the asset management field. In 2019, she was honored with the Most Inspiring Woman of the Year Award by International Business Magazine. In 2018, she was named one of The Middle East’s Most Influential Women by Forbes Magazine and also awarded CEO of the Year by Global Investors Group. Her excellence in asset management was further recognized with the Outstanding Achievement by Individual award during the MENA Fund Managers Performance Awards and the Best Asset Management CEO 2018 award from International Finance Magazine.

Her impressive career continues to earn her recognition, with Mrs. Adawi being awarded Best Asset Manager and Best Fund Manager in Egypt 2018 by Global Business Outlook. In 2016, she was selected as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in the Economy in Egypt, an honor given during a special ceremony organized by one of Egypt’s leading financial magazines under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Egypt.

In addition to her remarkable career in asset management, Mrs. Adawi is an active member of various influential organizations. She is part of the Top 50 Committee, which plays a key role in the economic development of Egypt. She is also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce and the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), where she continues to influence the business landscape and contribute to the growth of Egypt's economy.

Mr. Mohamed Abdalla

Vice Chairperson

Mohamed Abdalla is a trailblazer in the real estate and financial sectors, with over 30 years of experience. His career spans remarkable achievements in both equities and real estate, establishing him as a prominent figure in Egypt’s business landscape.

In 2001, Eng. Abdalla made history by pioneering the institutionalization of the real estate brokerage sector in Egypt, founding Coldwell Banker Egypt, the country’s first premier real estate full-service provider. This accomplishment came after his exceptional success in establishing and managing InterCapital Securities, Egypt’s leading securities brokerage firm in the 1990s. InterCapital Securities later became a part of EFG-Hermes, the largest investment bank in the region. Abdalla's work in real estate and securities set the stage for his continued success in business ventures.

Today, Mr. Abdalla serves as the Chairman of Coldwell Banker Egypt and Coldwell Banker Intercontinental Affiliates, which holds the franchise for Coldwell Banker in 36 countries across the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. Coldwell Banker Egypt now boasts 16 branches and employs over 340 real estate agents, earning multiple prestigious awards at international real estate conferences in the USA for its success and growth. Under Abdalla’s leadership, the company has become the number one international master franchise in the region.

In 2010, Abdalla co-founded Acumen Holding, further cementing his presence in the financial sector. The holding company has three main subsidiaries: Acumen Securities Brokerage, Acumen Asset Management, and Acumen Advisory and Activism, all of which have flourished under his vision and strategic direction.

Abdalla is also an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Egypt, where he co-founded and chaired the Real Estate Committee since its inception in 2003. He has been a frequent participant in the AmCham Egypt Door Knock Missions to Washington D.C. over the past 20 years, advocating for Egypt’s interests in international forums.

Additionally, Eng. Abdalla has served on several boards, including Raya Holding, where he was a Board Member from 2013 to 2015, and the Egyptian Railways Projects and Transport Company, where he served as a Board Member from 2005 to February 2010.

Mr. Nader Ekdawi

Managing Director

 With over 20 years of expertise in asset management, Mr. Ekdawi is a seasoned professional who has significantly contributed to the growth and success of Acumen Holding since its inception in 2010. His leadership and extensive experience have played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, particularly in the realm of investment management.

Mr. Ekdawi's journey at Acumen began in the early stages of the company, where he initially served as the Director of the Investment Funds and Local Institutions Department at Acumen Asset Management. His exceptional performance and strategic insights led to his appointment as the Managing Director, where he currently oversees the company’s overall investment strategies and growth initiatives. Mr. Ekdawi’s keen understanding of market dynamics has been instrumental in Acumen's successful ventures across diverse sectors.

As a member of Acumen’s Investment Committee and the Committee for Structuring New Products, Mr. Ekdawi continues to play a key role in shaping investment strategies, structuring innovative products, and ensuring Acumen’s offerings align with both local and global market trends.

Under his leadership, Mr. Ekdawi managed the "Izdihar Fund," which has earned the distinction of being Egypt’s Best Islamic Investment Fund for three consecutive years. His expertise in Islamic finance and asset management has positioned the fund as a leader in its sector, showcasing his ability to deliver outstanding results.

Before joining Acumen Holding, Mr. Ekdawi held significant leadership roles at EFG-Hermes, one of the leading investment banks in the MENA region. During his tenure, he served as Executive Vice President and Director of the Stock and Derivatives Trading Department within the Asset Management Division, where he was responsible for overseeing and driving the firm’s trading operations and investment strategies.

Mr. Ekdawi’s deep industry knowledge, coupled with his proven track record in asset management, continues to steer Acumen Holding toward new heights. His vision for the company is one of long-term, sustainable growth through smart investments and innovative financial products that meet the evolving needs of clients and investors in Egypt and beyond.

Eng. Ali Ben Hesham Helal El Sewedy

Ali El Sewedy is an accomplished and influential leader with extensive experience across various sectors, including industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, and education. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Energia Industries Group, a leading conglomerate operating in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The group has a diverse portfolio, including businesses in cables (Energia Cables, Jeddah Cables), iron (Energia Steel), cement (Nile Valley Cement), and education (Hayat International Academy), contributing to key industries that drive economic growth in the region.

Eng. Ali is a graduate of Queen Mary University of London, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. His academic background, coupled with his professional experience, has provided him with the technical expertise and strategic vision needed to lead and innovate across diverse industries.

In addition to his leadership role at Energia Industries Group, Eng. Ali is also a member of the Board of Directors at Hayat Urban Development Company and Acumen Holding Company for Financial Investments. His role in both organizations reflects his commitment to advancing business development and financial growth in the region.
