Amazon has inaugurated its first logistics centre in Egypt. The launch ceremony was attended by the Egyptian Prime Minister, the Minister of Telecommunications, and the Minister of Trade & Industry. The facility is 28,000m² and is located in 10^th of Ramadan City, on the outskirts of Greater Cairo. Amazon has invested over EGP1bn in Egypt in this logistics centre, as well as in establishing corporate and customer service offices and in employing over 3,000 employees in Egypt. Amazon’s investments in Egypt are its largest in Africa, and this logistics centre is the first of its kind in the African continent.
