The Egyptian President has announced that Egypt’s national state of emergency will not be extended for the first time in years. The state of emergency was imposed in April 2017 after church bombings and has been extended regularly since then. This decision is expected to spur increased positive sentiment about the Egyptian economy and its prospects, and result in a greater influx of foreign investments.
