A Ministry of Planning & Economic Development report revealed that Egypt has retained its title as the top recipient of Egypt's Top African Recipient of FDI for 5th Year in a Row for the fifth year in a row. Egypt received USD5.9bn of FDI in FY20/21, representing 53% of all FDI flowing into North African countries. The report said that FDI increased by 4% in 1Q21/22, led by the U.K. with 34% of total FDI, followed by the U.S.. An improved local business environment encouraged these investments due to an extensive reforms program.
