The Minister of Planning & Economic Development said that Egypt’s economy is expected to grow by 6% during FY21/22. She said that this forecast is supported by the 9.8% growth rate achieved in 1Q21/22, which was the highest level of growth in the last 20 years. This has led international institutions to raise their forecasts for the Egyptian economy’s growth, which in turn increases investor confidence. It is worthy to note that despite the Covid pandemic, the Egyptian economy was resilient enough to achieve growth of 3.6% in FY19/20 and 3.3% in FY20/21. Driving and reinforcing this impressive growth are the government’s structural reforms and targeted policies.
