Trade Deficit Shrinks 18% In August 2021

In the most recent trade data released by CAPMAS (The Center for Public Mobilization & Statistics) for August 2021, the numbers showed that Egypt’s trade deficit contracted by 18% to reach USD2.9bn. The data showed that the value of exports increased by 51%, while the value of imports only increased by 8%. The increase in exports was mainly due to higher exports of fertilizers, food preparations, plastics, and ready-made clothes.
